Low T3 With Normal TSH

I know Peat says TSH should be below 1 to be optimal, but mine is 1.45 which I don't think diagnoses hypothyroidism by itself. I've been off thyroid supplements for 2 months, and I look/feel how I did before taking thyroid supplements, so I'm pretty sure that the TSH number isn't artificially low because of supplementation.

The 1.45 isn't optimal, but it's not terrible either from what I've read. My total T3 however is exactly at the lowest end of the range...(these are the only two I could get my doctor to test me for).

Does anyone know if Peat has ever talked about this? Why TSH could be normal but your body doesn't want to produce more thyroid hormone? The only cause for this that I find online is adrenal fatigue, but I know Peat doesn't believe in this. I already eat low PUFA and do my best to eat fresh, non-processed, vitamin-rich foods and get adequate protein, so I was wondering maybe it's not nutrition-related.

Thanks so much for reading.
