Low sodium affects lots of things. What comes to mind for me is that under stress conditions, more sodium can improve the body's ability to retain magnesium. Sufficient magnesium is critical for bone formation. I think Peat has repeatedly suggested more sodium to people who seem to be having magnesium deficiency problems.
