Corn is corn. Masa is easier to digest, but is still considered a grain, while RP says sprouted isn’t considered a grain anymore, and is more of a plant/vegetable. In that recipe you can cut back on some of the coconut oil too, if you decide to try it. Me personally as an “0” blood type, that is suppose to avoid corn too, would choose the sprouted over the masa. Any grain sprouted is touted to be easier to digest, like masa. I am glad you are being very discerning.
That makes sense. Too bad because I’ve grow to enjoy Masa Harina. I’ll just learn to use rice, oat and sprouted flours. Speaking of… I need a good cracker recipe.

Replace oil with an equal amount of applesauce and reduce other liquids by 1/4 cup. - Brownies: Replace oil with an equal amount of applesauce and reduce other liquids by half. For example, if the recipe calls for 1/4 cup of water, use 2 tablespoons.Nov 26, 2014

I always thought these “Chocolate Chip Clouds” looked yummy, made with egg whites and no fat except for however many chocolate chips you decide to add to it. I for one wouldn’t put the full 1 cup these since it already has cocoa powder.

I just made a batch of hardtack. Basically flour, water and salt, I used some sprouted spelt flour and water (2:1) with salt and some nutritional yeast. You have roll it very thin and poke it down with a fork - it’s pretty hard so the thinner the better. That said the orange marmalade and fig jam soften it up somewhat. I could have added more seasoning/spices, but I was in a hurry.

Obviously it’s extremely low fat, and a good jam carrier?

It’s a water cracker/biscuit without the oil and leavening agents. It’s also a survival food ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Not sure if that’s the correct term, but no yeast or baking soda/powder

Have you made flour tortillas yet? Ours turn out fantastic with liquid oil and heirloom Einkorn flour! They are pliable and the taste rivals the best I have ever had in a restaurant. They make a great thin pizza crust too! I think I will take a few and cut them into cracker shapes and bake them. Here is the recipe I have been using for several years now.

You can get so much more out of hydrating with a glass of water by soaking fruit in it for several hours or overnight. This is a great place to put those cancer fighting, fat burning and pain relieving orange peels. I like to put fresh squeezed and strained frozen orange juice ice cubes in mine or just use frozen fruit instead of ice cubes to chill my water. Ooooh what about defrosting frozen strawberries in milk overnight for the freshest strawberry milk?!!

Another good place to put those highly beneficial orange or lemon peels is in teas. I usually sweeten my teas with organic orange marmalade. I like orange zest in my morning coffee too. It is so good!

FRESH STRAWBERRY MILK

I tried out my strawberry milk idea yesterday, and it turned out fantastic, and I have never liked strawberry milk! I just filled a container, a little under half full, with frozen strawberries, poured milk over it and let it get good for a good 12 hours or more, then I sweetened it with sugar! I used whole milk, but for this thread I would suggest nonfat or 2%.

“An older experiment compared two groups with an otherwise well balanced diet, lacking vitamin D, containing either 68% starch or 68% sucrose. A third group got the starch diet, but with added vitamin D. The rats on the vitamin D deficient starch diet had very low levels of calcium in their blood, and the calcium content of their bones was low, exactly what is expected with the vitamin D deficiency. However, the rats on the sucrose diet, also vitamin D deficient, had normal levels of calcium in their blood.” -Ray Peat

“A daily diet that includes two quarts of milk and a quart of orange juice provides enough fructose and other sugars for general resistance to stress, but larger amounts of fruit juice, honey, or other sugars can protect against increased stress, and can reverse some of the established degenerative conditions. Refined granulated sugar is extremely pure, but it lacks all of the essential nutrients, so it should be considered as a temporary therapeutic material, or as an occasional substitute when good fruit isn't available, or when available honey is allergenic.“ -Ray Peat

“Oxidized PUFA can be dangerous when in our bodies, especially since oxidative damage to fat-containing LDL particles is a primary factor in the development of heart disease. And an omega-6 rich diet greatly increases oxidized LDL levels. The more PUFA we eat, the more that accumulates in our bodies' adipose tissue. Hence, we have more than double the linoleic acid in our body fat as do our parents' generation, and fatty acid turnover in adipose tissue can take years. So you may feel the health effects of your diet from the past year or two, even if you switch to a healthier diet.“

“In animal studies, corn oil and linoleic acid hasten the progression of prostate and other cancers, when compared with saturated fat. Human trials have also found harm, such as corn oil more than tripling mortality and doubling the number of major cardiac events. While other more recent studies have shown mixed results, none have shown benefit to actual mortality or cardiac events from corn oil, and most have suggested some degree of harm.“

“This experiment proposes that aqueous Lavender extract can be regarded as a potential anti-cancer agent in future studies.”

I am drying some from my garden for tea and homemade lavender soda.

Edit: steer clear of the lavender essential oil until the evidence is a little more clear.
