I found these truffles at Smart and Final today, of all places. Can't wait to try them! It looks like the website is out of stock though (what the heck is "truffle season"?). Hoping these can help satisfy my chocolate cravings and maybe I'll recreate them on my own if they're good.
I found them! They were at the check-out stand at Smart & Final. I am in my car and just tried one. The raisin one tastes like a giant chocolate covered raisin. I think it is a yummy fat loss tool! I am having it with a “better” cola!

Oh! I was also going to share this photo. The right side is in March, when I was still breastfeeding (thus the larger chest haha) and the left was last week. I couldn't wear the dress because it was falling off my shoulders. But I think I see a difference in ribcage/stomach/neck/collar bones. I'll have to find a more fitted outfit to see the changes better. View attachment 43802

Wow what a difference! Your face looks younger too! What a beautiful face you have! Your teeth and smile are perfect! I am so proud of you!!! Wow!!

I agree! I was going to say they taste like giant raisinets. Yum. I need to find the Mexican cola and some cane sugar root beer....my daughter has been asking for a root beer float!

Do you think it is okay to speed up fat loss by eating with a bigger deficit but keeping carbs really high to keep the thyroid working as well as possible?

Fat low, calcium and protein high and do it all the first third part of the day. The last third let it be lots of fruit/sugar and a little fat. Personally I am not for lots of calories just for sake of getting the numbers high.

“Walks in rainy weather burn more calories: Believe it or not, Japanese researchers published a piece in the International Journal of Sports Medicine that proved when a person does physical activity in cold, rainy weather, he or she actually burns more calories and fat than doing the same activity in moderate weather.”

UPDATE:

Until about ten or so years ago, I was heavily into grains. I thought calories were the driving factor of being fat or being skinny. Though there is some truth to that, the protein and fat value of those calories determines what the shape of that body looks like. Me eating 2000 calories of grains with fats looks totally different than those same amount of calories that are made up mostly of proteins and sugars. With that being said, in my twenties I was always always skinny at about 115 to 120 pounds, eating mostly grains and dairy. So when I gave birth to my first son at 28 years old I gained 33 pounds, and at 153 pounds, eating lots of starchy carbs, not sugar carbs, because I didn’t like sugar back then, and still don’t really, I was mortified and fat at 153 pounds. I struggled to lose that weight, counting those starchy calories and never could get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. My point being 152 pounds, eating as Ray Peat suggests, without all the starch carbs had me looking great last summer, and I looked immensely different than when I was 153 pounds after having my son. I have recently lost 10 more pounds, weighing 143 in my second photo, and I am posting a pic from yesterday of the difference. My point being the scale doesn’t matter, what the calories are made of matters, I cannot say enough about that. I still haven’t been to the gym since 1991 and that is because RP says 90% of your diet determines your body composition, the other 10% is activity levels. Yes we need to be active, but killing your mitochondria at the the gym on treadmills is not the answer.

Hi. What are your macros? Do you know? Generally speaking, no details needed unless they are paramount. Thank you.

Hi Momma! In my “More Weight Loss Talk” thread I post more about my diet, with continuing updates. Basically when I want to lose unwanted fat I keep my fat intake low, keeping my proteins between 50 to 80 grams a day, eating the bulk of them 4 hours before bedtime. Most of that protein is dairy for me. Meat consumption is strictly at lunch, eating mostly liver, shrimp, ground beef with gelatin taco meat, carne asada, homemade bone broth soups, stew, or chicken soup, or boiled and broiled pastured chicken wings. At night I focus on the vitamin C, sugar, fats, and it is then I have milk, orange Julius and other sugary things, or maybe a starch splurge. I don’t eat a dinner at night, unless I am going out for dinner, then I don’t eat the sugary things at night. Here are pics of some of my other nightly sugary things and starchy “splurges”.

I don’t spend time cooking as much either. That is why I like my orange Julius. I really just focus on food timing and food pairing, rather than all the micromanaging details. I feel like when I was counting everything I was thinking about food to much and adding in too much with the snacking. Ever since RP told me to eat only when hungry and I heard him say when you want to lose weight first stop eating, I could finally relax and not keep thinking about my daily diet. It gets to be too obsessive. I now eat according to my desires, but within the guidelines of how he says to pair things and when to eat them.

Thank you. So your macros are about 80/15/5? Carbs protein fat. Is that right?

My fat was roughly around 40 grams, and sugar carbs were in abundance, as much as I wanted. I am having 80 grams of protein now because I don’t want to lose anymore weight, otherwise I was about 50 grams of protein when I was losing. I am 5’4 as a reference.

I know I keep ASKING and asking, hahaha. How does this plan/outline look? Am I grasping the concepts better? 🥴

Breakfast: 1 egg cooked in butter, coffee/collagen/maple syrup/nonfat steamed milk
Snack: carrot, orange juice, another nonfat latte
Lunch: Meat/seafood, sweet sauce, cooked veggies (leftovers, no starch)
Snack: Orange Julius OR lowfat yogurt/ricotta with fruit/honey/jam, optional nonfat latte
Dinner: beets/squash with oil, vinegar, and feta, OR potatoes/rice with cheese, cup of bone broth (no meat, optional starch)
Dessert: homemade ice cream with melted chocolate, OR glass of raw whole milk with honey

This seems doable for me if I include the starch and fat at dinner. Then I will feel like I've had more of a meal rather than a snack.

You can ask as many times as you like!

I will approach it with my own sample and you can make swaps. First when I want to lose fat, seriously, I don’t eat starches, and meat is minimal, and fat is low, and calcium and sugar sources are high.

-Wake up: have 2 scoops of gelatin dissolved in water while my coffee is brewing
-3 scoops of brewed coffee in 1.5 cups of water with a half cup of milk, sugar and salt.
-2 cups of milk (I drink whole milk now for awhile, but low and nonfat am we needed until I got rid of a lot of my fat stores. Whole milk now maintains my weight)
-I have my lunch, usually beef stew, a bunch of my boil and broil chicken wings with jam, or my chicken wing soup, maybe a lettuce wrapped cheeseburger, without the mayo sauce, carne asada with salsa, and maybe a little cottage cheese or ricotta, just simple things.
-later in the afternoon I might have a half cup of milk with a teaspoon of instant coffee, sugar and salt, shot it down and get back to what I am doing.
-here I will make an orange Julius by squeezing three oranges and mix them in a Ninja blender with 3/4 cup of milk, a huge tablespoon of a neutral tasting while “soft-set honey, salt and ice and LOVE on that!
-I will have two more glasses of milk here
-an hour before bed I might have a sweet or salty snack to set myself up for a goodnight sleep. It could be a really sweet cup of cascara or chamomile tea, a sprouted oat cookie, a spoonful of my homemade defatted coconut oil peanut butter with jelly, applesauce, just something small and satisfying. I can’t have much food in my stomach for a solid 8 hours of good restful sleep.

The better my sleep got, the easier the fat came off. I know this may not be exciting with lots of eating, but you gotta let yourself get hungry. When you get the weight off you then can add in more calories and a bigger variety of foods, but really the key is to eat the heavier hard to digest meats earlier. Meat just seemed to make losing more difficult and shellfish sped things up. Once I lost the weight I switched to whole milk. If you still need starches I highly suggest sprouted grains instead of the inflammation causing wheat and GMO corn ones.

Hmmmm. Okay. Still not grasping it I guess. How's this? Similar number of calories, protein, fat, carbs.

Breakfast: 1 egg, nonfat sweet latte with collagen
Snack: lowfat ricotta/greek yogurt with fruit and honey, carrot, nonfat sweet latte
Lunch: leftovers (meat/seafood, veggies, NO starch), another nonfat latte if I want
Snack/Dinner: 1 quart of skimmed raw milk with added sugar and salt, 1 cup fresh oj, sip on as needed throughout afternoon
Dessert: No cream ice cream with a bit of chocolate
