Hello Everyone,

I have recently left my job and going through a transition period as I am proposing a new opportunity with multiple organizations. However, it could take me a year to get a proposal of mine passed. In the mean time I would like to move to the Phoenix area where I can be in the sunshine for a full year as this transition will be stressful. I have been in winter darkness for 8 years and feel the sunshine could be worth move.

In the mean time I will be finishing up my Master's Degree in Applied Clinical Nutrition; I have 6 more courses and need a nutrition internship to sit for the Certified Nutrition Specialist Exam. Does anyone know any opportunities in the Phoenix area where I can work in lifestyle, nutrition, mindset, strength, and/or conditioning setting? Also, does anyone know a nutrition setting where I can get my internship hours for school? I am open to part and full time work.

My background is:

I've been a strength and conditioning coach in the NHL for the past 7 years. The past 3.5 years I've been focused on Peat's principles and started a consultation program with athletes where we would get specific in nutrition, lifestyle, and mindset.

To sum up my goals for this next year while transitioning:

Live in Sunny Climate
Finish up Master's Degree - 2-3 courses per 15 week trimesters.
Work 20-40 hours per week
Internship - 10-20 hours per week

Phoenix is my top choice as my best friend says I can live with him. However, if anyone knows opportunities in other sunny climates and/or high altitude climates such as Cali, Denver, ABQ, Austin, Florida, Las Vegas I would be interested as well.

Any and all thoughts are welcomed.

Thank you for everyone's support.

I moved back to Tucson almost two years ago for the sunny climate and the somewhat higher elevation. The sun is awesome here and there are swimming pools everywhere to play in. Tucson's elevation is right around 2,400 ft. I drove through Flagstaff, AZ a couple times here recently and it's freakin' awesome at around 6,900 ft. AZ is an amazingly awesome state to be in!!

I'm in Tucson as well and it is very nice - you deal with 4 months of it being very hot but the rest of the year it is perfect.

When I lived in Tuscan I worked in an exclusive spa. Great environment and fairly open to "health" ideas. They always had a resident nutritionist and often invited guest lecturers for interesting topics. @Ewlevy1 You might look around Phoenix for a similar set up.

Do you remember the name of that spa?
