Lighter Colour Eyebrows After Sun Exposure

Does anyone know why my eyebrows turn a good few shades lighter after sun exposure?

I had this all my life, not a major problem by any means but wondering could it be the missing link in some of health problems...

Unless your eyebrow hairs have a unique ability to conduct peroxides after growing, their color lightens just from exposure to sunlight. This is common.

@Ras would you by any chance happen to know the mechanism behind it, causing the loss of colour?

I do not know why, but I suppose it occurs for much the same reason that other materials alter in color from prolonged sun exposure: heat and oxidizing radiation from the sun break molecular bonds over time. Melanin is a sacrificial substance meant to absorb some insult from the sun's radiance and thereby protect the skin from damage.
