We'd definitely have to see that blood work. Amongst the normal hormones, get your prolactin , estradiol and dhea checked.

You'll then know if you need something to drop prolactin or something to increase estrogen. Both will affect your issue accordingly.

If you're not getting nocturnal or random erections or morning, you want to do something while you address the issue because the longer you go without erections, tissue changes in the penis could occur. So a low dose of cialis every other day (1/10 dosage) and get a water bath mate pump.

You gotta get blood there. No this isn't s joke.

A benzo can also boost nocturnal erections by releasing gaba overnight but I don't recommend that for us

Mine goes through the roof with reducing exercise, saturated fat from cheese, mushrooms and liver and prawns. Basically a cholestrol positive diet I reckon. Re exercise, do nothing bar some sprinting and a little heavy weight lifting once or twice a week.

I don't think cheese affects sex drive through saturated fats, eating lots of butter or coconut oil does not have the same effect as cheese, I think it could be histamine related or something else.

Sex drive/libido are not the same thing as nocturnal erections.
If the prior is low, that's not a concern, unless you are unable to perform when the time arises.
If you aren't having nocturnal erections, that's a problem, since those are essential for the health of the penis.

My first thing I always look at with loss of nocturnal erections, is carbs/calories.

What do you mean ? I remember you saying resistant starch made you bigger while fructose/sucrose made you smaller so I'm guessing too much of the latter could give issues in your case.

Wagner, what does your typical nurtition plan look like? Eating more carbs like brown rice? Lots of protein? More healthy fats?

I don't see any reason why I would be an example for anyone but here you go:
Most dairy and in particular cow dairy give me issues, some mozzarella di buffala and particular goat cheeses seem ok. I eat fruits (mangoes, prunes , melons etc..) , drink filtered apple juice, sodas, eat organic pasta , wacky potatoes, now adding sushi rice out of curiosity (other rice give issues), proteins in the form of ham (with lower fat, like 3g of fat per 100 g), some red meat, non fatty fish (cod), wild caught shrimps, and the cheeses I mentioned earlier. Fats (cheese and red meat aside) are mainly butter and some olive oil if I have salads like tomatoes, occasional cucumbers and sometimes lettuce . I'm adding kale as well now. I did the mushrooms broth for some time and stepped away recently for no particular reasons, I'm going to give a try to the ground mushrooms. Overall I settled for a diet which is pretty simple, good to share with friends and looks safe enough to me. I drink a bit of coffee. Digestion is purty nice these days.

Thanks for the ideas Wagner. Do you feel like your diet is helping you a lot in terms of healing and feeling more vitality.

Vitality I don't know , I've often been quite moody, with a clear lack of energy, I even experienced intense issues with erections despite being young and lean, etc.. I think I know part of the reasons why but in any case response to meals seems to vary . Digestion is a lot better for sure. As for ratios of fats and carbs, the only reason one would eat high fat would be to eat dairy imo, so once most of it is out of the equation there's only one way to go. I'm still looking for answers on size of meals, importance of proteins when feeding carbs and amount of fats for satiety. I don't know how much diet alone can do, not doing harm would be a good start to aim for . It took me a lot of time to isolate what clearly disrupts my well being, now ratios of macro nutrients (and fructose vs glucose) at breakfast/lunch/dinner (different) are being studied, little by little. I don't know how much I can achieve through diet alone, diet is one part of the equation.
I tried the high fruit juices + milk diet and while it felt nice at first, it then turned out to be borderline dangerous.

I am glad your digestion is working well. You are right, everyone is unique. My appetite has been suppressed and I need to kickstart it again. I will post my hormone levels as soon as I get them.

Yes. Starch definitly seems to be the most beneficial for my erections. Part of this is probably due to their energy density in relation to their volume though.
But if you aren't eating enough calories or carbs for hormone production, the source is likely a moot point.

What type of starch are you guys consuming? I need to step my appetite and claroies up. It has been challenging to eat more but I will do more relaxing self-care to prep me for that.

James, can you define the difference between sex drive, libido, and erections? Just wanted to clarify.

I won't speak for James but sex drive & libido are the same thing... and this is the desire for sex...

Erections could occur even when you're not in the mood, so to speak, by contact of your partner which could then trigger the hormonal responses, including dopamine...

However, spontaneous or nocturnal erections occur without sexual factors and are typically the body's natural flow of hormones... especially during REM...

I learned a nice way to test for nocturnal erections... use one or two pieces of toilet paper, cut long wise to about 1" in width and as long as you need to wrap your penis with it and apply a small piece of tape to the paper only... obviously wrap your penis while flaccid, not too tight and just before bed... I suggest underwear like boxer briefs that hold yourself but allows for erections ... tighty whiteys not so much... If you happen to wake or when you wake up, you'll see the toilet paper torn...

Obviously takes a few attempts to satisfy the experiment and get things right... but if you get it right, you'll know you had a nocturnal erection...

erections in isolation don't tell us much. Do you have a partner or are you out there dating?

That is the real gamechanger. Without a partner, or without dating at least, it's very difficult to get good erections back.

Thanks Joe! I am out there dating and there is a pretty lady I have eyes on. I just met her too. I would like to just get libido back strong and erections that feel good. Today I had a chiropractic appointment and the doctor mentioned that my rapid weight loss most likely triggered fatty deposits that still contained fin residue. Interesting theory and that could explain why I felt awful this month. I felt very relaxed after the treatment. Lots of tense muscles.
