I had a prolactin level of 18.2 in Jan, after 3 dissmissive docs, i finally played the game and got what i had been suspecting. I felt low and crappy, I still feel the same. Im awaiting thyroid so i can begin taper onto it.

The most recent idiot agreed to followup bloodwork though.

To be frank, i think they will flat out say no to anything E related(as if its so far fetched) but I could certainly ask.

I havent been stressed really, my days are quite simple. Walks, feeding, anything work related is simple.

Ive been doing charcoal and carrots for about the past year or so.
Why not take a break from charcoal and carrots? It will at least tell you if they are helping. Its definitely possible to overdo those and adsorb things you should be getting.

Not a bad idea, but should i stick with it for the next bloodwork then pause? Whats the gauge?

Im probably using charcoal once or twice a week(days in a row), carrots 2-3 days a week.

So it is on the high end.

Do you suspect a cause? What have you been doing to lower it?

Yea definitely, if you search some of my threads it was years of skipping sleep, garbage nutrition, wayyyyy too much in the gym coupled with a couple years of toxic people and life stress. Just utter neglect and abuse. I was probably running on epinephrine, cortisol and caffiene for years.

My thyroid eventually said "nope". Since then my adrenals have gotten better as confirmed by a cortisol 24hr, thyroid has yet to come back.

Im assuming its thyroid primarily related

Haha yeah I’ve ran on catecholamines for a while too. Nothing like caffeine and a fasted workout to get the adrenaline (and cortisol) pumping. But damn @ those guns man.

It might just take more time for things to level out man. I suspect my prolactin levels are on the high side too but I still get the desire every few days and everything down there functions better than it used to as long as I don’t try to perform 2 nights in a row (I’m 38 so I’m no spring cockerel). Make sure you’re getting your dairy/calcium and salt as well as liver and oysters once a week (for the zinc and vitamins).

Youre right, nothing quite like that. Add in preworkout and you can get torqued up for anything.

I appreciate it, everything fortunately works to me too. Im there on the food, so maybe i need more time.

Im hopefully assisting my thyroid will give my cells some energy too. Ive been pming people here and there trying to learn their situations and maintaining I just cant wait to feel normal again.

Whats balance here with sex drive and good dopamine levels vs estrogen?

My libido is slowly recovering but my thyroid is crappy so my prolactin is high. Performance and erection quality is fine.

What do you guys think?
Estrogen driven libido is thinking about sex all the time, but unable to get hard, when you come it's very weak and almost watery semen. You feel unsatisfied after it and still want sex.
Dopamine and testosterone driven libido is: you can easily get rock hard boners, high performance, very orgasm driven and when you come the orgasm is very intense, like an explosion of pleasure. Very satisfied afterward, to the point of laughing afterwards about how great that was.

In my experience, a high libido is a good sign IF it can be satisfied adequately with sex. I'm a male. A high sexual drive that cannot be quenched is a sign of estrogen, if I recall Peat correctly.
This. Peat didn’t say libido was a sign of high estrogen; he said that the inability to feel sexual satisfaction is a sign of high estrogen. If you jack off or get laid and are still having obsessional thoughts about sex without real arousal, then this indicates the high estrogen/serotonin syndrome. Maybe because ejaculation raises prolactin, a body that’s highly estrogenic cannot handle the additional burden of increased estrogen activity.

Any guy who’s been “addicted” to porn will know what I’m talking about. Yes, there’s a dopamine component to the compulsion; this is just a hypothesis.

So, high libido is a good thing. Compulsive sexuality indicates poor health and if you’re a little unlucky, can eventually make your health dramatically worse.

This may be why there’s so much (unimaginably tedious) controversy about nofap - poking around the subreddit for it you see a lot of testimonials from guys who are “taking control” of their lives for what is apparently the first time. Presumably they have been sedentary and unhealthy, and not getting laid, so you would expect these men to start out with elevated estrogen and prolactin to begin with. Men who are already healthy are less likely to notice a difference because their hormonal balance is more supportive of sexual activity.

Yeah man.. this is something I've been thinking about too. I think if you get blood work and you see you have low testosterone, then you notice you have libido, then yeah it can be bad. I've gotten this before too. I've had before where I haven't eaten in maybe like 4 or 5 hours, then I will notice I start feeling a libido urge coming on. Yet I'll have water retention or constipation or something. I think this is why nofap has been really good for me. I keep telling myself, the libido is a lie, the libido isn't real until I see a 600 or 700 + on my testosterone blood work.

I was just thinking in terms of how you feel. This: " I felt low and crappy, I still feel the same." is what i was mainly thinking of.

when I take too much DHEA or Pansterone(too much estrogen),I get high libido but won't get random boners.
but when I take small ammount of them(well measured) with Kuinone,I get both strong libido with rock hard randomboners.

What are those small amounts?

I think there is a sort of "painfully horny" feeling, which is from high estrogen.

Sexual desire when you are in bed with a partner can become high and that's good. Feeling horny all the time is not good, a sign of high estrogen I think.

I think progesterone has helped me settle down in this way. I still love and want sex all the time, but not in an uncomfortable way.

What would you say is the cause of poor libido for someone in his late 20s, lean and athletic composition?

Ever since peating nad poor sleep, my libido has been dead. :( I'm 11% BF with muscle and get no morning wood.
Did you get your libido back?

How would you fix this
