I take 4 grams ascorbic acid fine powder, with 1/4 tsp or less of baking soda.

I second pretty much everything in this thread. Vitamin C is a wonder vitamin, it help protects against excess stress, protects against cancer, protects against atherosclerosis, and even helps thyroid (lowering the TSH). It's only found in therapeutic amounts in raw foods, like ripe uncooked fruits for example. So several people can have a deficiency without knowing it. Deficiencies are wildly inconsistent too, the more stressed an individual is, the more vitamin C they use/need. On an average day, I take 3 grams. But on stressful days I've been as high as 8 grams. I've seen reports of people going up to 20 grams before. Vitamin C, along with adequate salt, can powerfully support the adrenals.
