what about hydrogenated co?

If you're deep frying anything, Hydrogenated CO is the way to go. I have a little deep fryer, and have used regular and Hydrogenated in frying it. Hydrogenated wins, hands down. Smoke point is higher, seems to fry better, and there doesn't seem to be any sort of breakdown of the oil using multiple fries. I've done both tortilla chips and potato slices (thicker than chips, but not exactly the shape you'd expect from french fries), and both were excellent. Just get thin tortillas if doing the chips, one set I did came out too thick and hard.

I used the 92 degree oil from Bulk Apothecary.

i have used TKB Trading 92 deg. CO, tossing potato slices in a little and baking. Tastes great and very much like refined co.
