I think so. As I understand it, hypothyroid people cannot convert beta carotene into vitamin A. So the beta carotene builds up in the body and blocks thyroid function and the production of progesterone. It happened to me about 6 years ago. I got straightened out by increasing my prescription natural desiccated thyroid supplement and by avoiding beta carotene like the plague. I always soak and rinse shredded orange carrots to remove the carotene. I also supplement vitamin A transdermally, and I also supplement progesterone.

It might be the other way around, hypothyroid people can't tolerate beta carotene and vitamin a. But I guess it really doesn't matter which way, we would have to fix the hypothyroid first anyways.
In the video clip about carrot salad, Ray first States .. "if the thyroid is in good shape, then a carrot salad daily can help clean out the intestine". That is a big if..
