I know Animal rennet is better for allergies and people are more prone to allergies from veg rennet.. but if there is no problem with veg rennet cheeses in terms of allergies then is veg rennet okay in itself? Is it detrimental to health etc?

I'm sure I will tolerate it fine, I've found a good organic cheese, Only veg rennet, salt, starter culture, milk. No GMO etc, Much cheaper than buying parm/comte like I have been.

I asked Sainsbury's about their veg rennet in the organic cheese and they said this: "The type of vegetarian rennet that we use is microbial. The milk clotting enzyme is extracted from a fungi called mucur miehei grown specially for this purpose."

Is raw cheese always safe aswell (comte/parm/gruyere etc)?
