Is This Breathing Technique Good For C02?

By holding the breath at the top of your inhale you create a large chamber in your lungs for holding extra c02. A lot of breathing techniques have you hold at the exhale with the idea of creating c02 saturation faster and oxygen intake lower. This sounds not as good because I assume the lungs will be able to absorb c02 as needed and it would have more access to this if the reservoir is greater (as in the case of holding after the inhale).

thoughts?

Email exchange with Ray a few months ago:

Me:

From an exercise standpoint, does holding your breathe after a full exhalation differ in short or long term benefit compared to holding your breathe with a full inhalation?

I do bag breathing already and looking for other ways via breathing exercises that can help increase my CO2 and improve my health.

Thank you

The signal to breathe depends on the blood gas concentration; the urge comes earlier after the exhalation.
