Can anyone tell me whether Levothyroxine is suitable for someone who has blood results:

TSH = 9.36
Free T4 = 9.3

Currently an inpatient in the UK so limited by what the NHS will allow and therefore not able to get any other tests done at the moment.

Dosage was increased a few days ago to 50mg.

Levothyroxine only works for people who are able to convert T4 to T3. I tried it and my partner did, but it did not work for us. You can only try it. If your FT3 FT4 tests get better, it means that it is working for you. TSH many books on thyroid will tell you that it is not a reliable measurement.

Your body doesn't just convert T3, but also makes T3 independently of T4.
On top of that levothyroxine use will supress calcitonin, T1, and T2.

I had a friend that dropped TSh from 8 to 3 with various supplements.
I have no idea what T3 will do for you (could be the solution or not), but having experience with just T4 I think you would be better off without medication and just using supplements and herbs to fix your disorder.
