Is blue light causing internet addiction?

I recently started blocking all blue light on my devices.

After sunset I also wear blue light blocking glasses and use candles instead of artificial light.

I noticed that my intrest in using the internet or technical devices overall significantly decreased. Could reduced blue light be a reason for this? I did not change anything else.

You are letting your mind unwind from fight or flight apps. Probably allowing you to direct your attention else where.

it likely wouldn't. the thing with blue light is it keeps you up at night makes it harder to fall asleep. so if you didnt have the red light filter on your computer enabled, you likely would have been staying up later, and due to staying up more, used the computer more.
blue light stimulates wakefulness somehow, so it could cause some stress, but that wouldn't increase your computer usage unless it's an indirect response to being more stressed.
the internet usage depends on so many things... it can even change from day to day like one day you might have a ton of interesting things you want to read about, next day you have nothing you're really thinking about or want to read on, or watch videos of or whatever. i think the internet by nature is addictive, whether youre into video games, movies, porn, youtube, or even reading, researching, studying... there's limitless content to view or read.

Yes, similar to videogames, but also similar to the increase in cut scenes in movies. The flicker rate increase is specifically designed to trigger your fight or flight reactions and put you in a degenerative and alert state to capture your attention for whatever they are selling.

I think blue light is more aggresive towards the eye so it probably is a similar principal in terms of your body seeing a potential threat where as red light flicker probably reminds the primordial brain of the light of a camp fire.
