I am really confused about whether azelaic acid is bad. On one hand azelaic acid is super effective at reducing acne. But at the same time apparently azelaic acid induces mitochondrial damage and that induces p53. Which leads to less acne.

Yet i am reading p53 is upregulated in androgenic alopecia which is weird because apparently azelaic acid inhibits dht?

i honestly am not sure if anything i am reading is accurate. I would like peoples thoughts on this.

For what indication?Acne? You should try all other things, including just topical cosmetic intervention.
