Irritated On Cyproheptadine Even With Full Stomach

Recently i had a second attempt at taking cypro for about 5 days and although I felt more tired than usual on the first day, fatigue was gone second day onwards. Slowly I realised that it does something to my mood, I became short tempered, irritated, unreasonable and impatient with kids and husband. I ate to appetite and well, so what's up with the bad angry moods? Any ideas? I was also couple of days before my period but I'm not usually this irritated and besides I would expect pms to be minimised whilst on cypro. Thoughts?

Yes, only 1mg, same as at first attempt, when I don't remember having this irritation.

If you take it an hour after you wake up, it'll lower cortisol more effectively. I'd try that.

Actually that's a really good idea, especially as I tend to crash first thing in the morning and can't seem to eat enough. Will I be able to drive though?

I take 4 mg, and I'm probably more alert, but I drink a lot of coffee. Maybe try 0.5 or 0.25 in the morning to start.

It can definitely increase aggressiveness. I honestly suspect it can cause a rebound effect on cortisol. Though I'm not positive on that.

Each drug is not for everyone and no matter what the "textbook" says if you continue having side effects, stop it or use low maintenance doses.

Cypro antagonizes dopamine even at low doses and that effect accumulates. Irritability is a common side effect of dopamine antagonists. Some people are sensitive.
