You might experiment with IP6.
I did--I've got a thread on it.

Here are the latest result on that thread:

Here are my April iron lab numbers...

GGT 82 HIGH IU/L 0-65 01
Iron Bind.Cap.(TIBC) 378 ug/dL 250-450 01
UIBC 174 ug/dL 150-375 01
Iron, Serum 204 HIGH ug/dL 40-155 01
Iron Saturation 54 % 15-55 01
Ferritin, Serum 74 ng/mL 30-400 01
Hemoglobin 16.1 g/dL

And here are my recent August numbers...

GGT 61 IU/L 0-65 01
Iron Bind.Cap.(TIBC) 434 ug/dL 250-450 01
UIBC 354 ug/dL 150-375 01
Iron, Serum 80 ug/dL 40-155 01
Iron Saturation 18 % 15-55 01
Ferritin, Serum 28 LOW ng/mL 30-400 01
Hemoglobin 15.9 g/dL 12.6-17.7 01

I'm not sure if this is a good or bad progression.
Both the IBC and UIBC are up, with UIBC way up.
Ferritin way down--"LOW", in fact.
Hemoglobin nearly unchanged.
Iron Saturation way down.
Serum Iron way down....

I had been taking IP6 500mg + Inositol 500mg for about a month before August test.

post 102190 That's a 14.4% drop in ferritin.

You're assuming it's not due to normal day to day variations and measurement errors.

Do you feel any difference?

Hi all - sorry for late reply - I had little time to log in.

Based on previous panel tests, it was not a day to day variation thing - tests are always taken fasting at the same time. The good news is my specialist tells I am not suffering haemachromatosis.
Yea I have to say that each time I use doxy, I feel clearer headed and hormonal parameters do appear to improve.
The most dramatic change in overall well being was experienced after a blood donation. It lasted 24 hours. My thinking is that liver stores of Iron eventually released to compensate from a perceived shortfall.
Cortisol can raise serum iron levels, as can certain types of inflammation or infection. My own issue is an inflammatory one. I note that Peat mentioned repeated blood donations / phlebs had improved symptoms substantially in those with inflammatory bowel disease.

Do you know what is good in peat land for iron numbers? I often get tired and my Dr. says it's because my iron is low.
My last test said IBC saturation was at 13%.......should I leave it there?
