Should I keep chelating Iron?
Cilantro reduced my ferritin from 230 to 169 ng/ml, but my serum Iron now is very low, at 60 ug/dl Ref 59 – 159, so is close to deficiency.
Also, my transferrin saturation is low at 20,7%, ref range: 15 – 50%, and my Total Iron binding Capacity is 290 ug/dl Ref: 250 – 450, so is low too.
My saturation was never more than 40% and serum iron was 100 ug/dl before.
To be iron overload, ferritin but also saturation and serum iron must be high, right?
In my case, only ferritin is high, so it is a case of inflammation? So iron is stored out from serum iron to not fed the bacteria that is inflaming my body? How can I find what is causing the inflammation?
If I keep using Cilantro, maybe my ferritin will go down, but also serum iron will drop even more and saturation too.
Thanks’ for any help.
