Iron is needed for thyroid health. If you don't have the proper balance then hypothyroid symptoms such as hair loss can occur.
Ya but my understand is hypothyroid hairloss doesn’t mimic pattern hairloss

Perhaps the assumption that it should all be the same is in error...possibly? In other words, varied permutations of a core cause.

To add, iron does play a role in energy and therefore in maintaining structure. Hair follicle and hair integrity should be affected then in iron deficiency.

Iron Plays a Certain Role in Patterned Hair Loss

What are people’s thoughts on this. Could this be related to endotoxins ?

I don't think much of it. I have had ferritin as high as 444, and as low as 18. I didn't have any indications of hair loss at either end. If anything, keeping iron low made improvements in my hair, as some of the gray disappeared. Even in the sample of the study, the range of ferritin varied greatly. I aim to stay near deficiency with iron and ferritin, and regularly donate blood.
