Iodine Pool Affects Thyroid ?

Last night i went to bed as normal, but took less T4 as i wanted to see what this would be like. I normally take 100mcg at bedtime, but took only 25mcg last night.

I woke in the night with a lump type feeling in my throat. Today i have woken tired and have this lump feeling.

Can this really be down to lowering my T4 dose so quickly ?

Or could it be the effect of iodine on my thyroid. I spent yesterday afternoon at a spa complex and was in the iodine hot pools for about 1 1/2h's on and off.

I am sure my body has absorbed a good amount of iodine through the skin. So could this have had this effect on my thyroid.

My wife also take T4 and she feels a little tired and irritable today.

I think too much iodine turns of the thyroid and can cause lots of hypo symptoms as well as constriction in the throat. maybe there is something that you can take to flush out the excess. I would certainly drink lots of water at a minimum

Felt fine 24h's later, but very weird what happened.

If anyone else can confirm iodine turns the thyroid off that would be very useful. I know iodine can cause autoimmune issue with the thyroid and can turn it up too much or too low.
