These are some iron numbers a month after donatjng ? Am I actually low iron ? Or does this mean I have stored iron in the tissue? I don’t know the details and how to determine what is going w iron recycling etc.

But my magnesium RBC was very low , and I had mercury fillings all my life. Which leads me to believe i had mineral Imbalance and excess iron. My feretin went from 130 to 40 after a blood donation a month ago.? Also I crave ice 24/7 which is a sign of iron overload apparently? No idea if that’s true.

I want to keep donating , but I’m just not sure being the small chance I actually do have low iron.

Yes you can have a big drop in ferritin from a blood donation. It’s usually a 30-70 points drop depending on how much you donated.

If ceruloplasmin is low, ferro-oxidase enzymes cannot function right and this can show up as low-iron markers.
Checking serum ceruloplasmin (and serum copper) is a good way to know if your iron recycling system is working well.

I emailed with Morley Robbins lots of times and he said that people with low saturation, ferritin and hemoglobin really often have low ceruloplasmin, but it‘s not well recognized in clinical circles.
