Weight lifting should be periodized anyway

I do most of my bi-yearly peaking cycles at a sub60% average intensity. Then 3 weeks around 70, 3 weeks around 80-90, then 3 weeks peaking, then 2 weeks off.

Sheiko and many other coaches do just that. You’re never ever hitting heavy weights when you’re building muscle and then work capacity. you’re training, not exhausting yourself. Leave the heavy work for the PR days. There are many days where I’m barely sweating, although I do get good pumps
