Institutional Memory Losses. What Happened To Mg, Iodine And IV Vit C?

I recall Ray once mentioning that old text books on women's breast health used to make frequent mention of the importance of iodine and that iodine is entirely missing from the newest book editions. I also once saw a cardiologist make a similar complaint about the role of magnesium in treating heart attack patients (that modern medical training has nearly dropped the practice of administering magnesium sulfate IV in the emergency room).

Ray once said the resuscitation oxygen cylinders, called the H-H Inhalator carried by emergency response teams in the 1930s contained oxygen with 5-7% CO2, called "Carbogen". Ray recommended Yandell Henderson's classic essay entitled: "Carbon Dioxide' published in the 1940 edition of the Cyclopedia of Medicine.
In that essay, Henderson informed the reader that:
" Nearly every American anesthetic apparatus now has an attachment for a cylinder of carbon dioxide, or of a mixture of carbon dioxide and oxygen. By this means any tendency to failure of breathing on the operating table is counteracted. "

I have personally observed that administering IV buffered Vitamin C to treat liver and lung infections is almost never available, though it's a relatively harmless and effective intervention.

The larger point about this, is that from the foregoing, we can observe that powerful forces seem to want to dump safe and natural remedies down the memory hole. Is there any public forum where the suppression of information about natural remedies is being sensibly discussed? Should we discuss this in more detail here at RPF?

It seems that ever since the Flexner Report of 1910, the drug companies use (abuse) their power to suppress natural remedies.

Such a discussion has many merits, but we should get the terms straight before. There is nothing „natural“ about IV synthetic vitamin c or magnesium-sulfate.

These are simple, easy to obtain, cost-efficient and relatively side-effect free treatment options. But they’re no more natural than more recent alternatives that replaced them. Nonetheless they have many arguments in their favor but natural is not one of them and would only push such a discussion into a esoteric area and makes it unnecessarily suspecting to unfactual artacks

There is no free market in medicine, the whole field is controlled top down by regulators and MDs who are heavily influenced by the chemical industry. Everything that is not sanctioned is denounced and attacked and in some cases even outlawed. If an MD chooses to use a less conventional or non conventional form of treatment (but still legal) his license will be taken away, so even if they and their patient personally want to they can't. The medical profession works kind of like a guild in the middle ages. There isn't much money or political motivation in vitamin and mineral treatments, or in treatments that cure the patient in general.

If you're interested in a little info on some of the story behind iodine, I recommend this book: "The Hidden Cause of Acne" by Melissa Gallico. Quick read on fascinating health topics (includes a thyroid connection as well).
The book is mainly about the corruption that has brought fluoride into our water systems, but she discusses iodine as an antagonist to fluoride and how our medical world has forgotten iodine and we're instead saturated with fluoride.
For us health conspiracy theorists, this is a great read. Melissa is an FBI Intelligence Analyst and a great researcher.

That's the downfall of media and marketing. The ones shouting the loudest get heard while the others get forgotten. New generations of practitioners get educated on new methods of treatments, but unless they are curious enough to dig deeper, they won't know about the alternatives used in the past.
