Just a bought an infrared lamp "Beurer IL 11", I will try to sleep with it as well. I'm surprised that no one tried or reported using it yet.

Enjoying the light
While using the lamp on the face, always keep the eyes closed in order to avoid injury to the eyes (do not look directly at the infrared light). The recommended duration of treatment is maximum 12 minutes. We recommend selecting a shorter radiation period to start with. However, the skin of some people may show an over-sensitive (e.g. with extreme redness, blistering, itching, heavy sweating) or allergic reaction to heat radiation, even when the lamp is used correctly.

Hi,
It would be helpful if anyone could share their experience with Beurer IL 50.

Great, I have mine being delivered today.

Just received the following info by email from Beurer:

"The complete wave length range of IL50 is 500 nm to 2500nm.
That means for the infrared radiation range: 800nm (IRA) to 2500nm (IRB):
• Short wave range = IRA 800 to 1400 nm
• Middle wave range = IRB 1400nm to 3000 nm
The dominant wave length range of IL50 is 1250 nm."

wavelength profile seems a bit too high but taking into account all I have learned so far I am convinced that buying it was the right choice.
I will ask Beurer for spectral power distribution or any more detailed curved graph if they have one.

I would appreciate if you could share your routine and any suggestions. I am being mindful that you have it for a year and a half now and most likely know all there is to know about using it.

Hi Cezary, just going through a few old threads, how did you get on with this heat lamp as was looking into buying a Beurer lamp?

Hi
First weekend I had three six minute sessions a day with final one in the evening. Light focused on torso towards the thyroid and the back. First thing I noticed is having erections at night three days in a row since I started using the lamp. From what I have learned is that nitric oxide was being dissociated from cytochrome C and circulated in the blood stream causing the symptoms. I have never tried viagra but it must be similar experience. Nonetheless it was not making me particularly relaxed and sleep did not improve. Not to get overexcited this effect diminishes with time. The problem with this lamp is that it works on one part of the body at the time. You would have to move quite a bit to get full exposure. Also it is easy to catch a cold if ambient temperature is not high enough. The plus is that it is quite compact and they give 3 year warranty. I assume this includes the bulb.
Last week I purchased three heat lamps at similar cost to one Beurer Lamp. I picked deep dome construction as it directs the light from incandescent bulbs very well. They need to have polished not enamel inside as reflection is considerably better. I use two 200w incandescent bulbs and one 250w not tinted heat bulb. First impression is that three lamps are performing much better and wattage is sufficient. Full body exposure cuts session time to a couple of minutes. It has very strong effect on the body and I would advise to start with short treatment.

Thanks for the advice, really appreciate it.

Hi,
This lamp would do, it looks quite sturdy but it could be difficult to position vertically. The one I bought looks as below:
They reflect the light very well and it is suitable for the light therapy. I would not use them as ceiling light for reading or general use though as light distribution is not even. For this use enamel lamp is much better as below:

Both lamps are 200w rated. Most lamps with higher ratings require GS fitting not ES and this makes things more complicated when buying bulbs.
