You already have ordered the item. If i say it is not the right lamp
you really can not do much about it. It looks similar to a product of philips.
Infrared lamps for aches and pain. It is mostly infrared heat with some
red light between 600-900, the beneficial range. But one of the problem
of these products is that you can not use it continuously.
Philips product i know has to be turned off after 4 minutes or so.
Your item shows that it automatically shuts down after 15 min.
Check the website of the manufacturer, they should have a
wavelength chart.

I can still cancel the order though since it haven't been shipped. So you say that it's not recommended or what?

It does help with aches and pain and there is beneficial 600-900 nm lights.
Heat is beneficial, especially in cold climate. If you can not use it for hours
then i am not sure how much benefit you will get. You need to make sure
if this product is meant for continuous use for hours.
Regular incandescent bulb works fine, if heat is not an issue for you.
Brooding lamp is a possible fire hazard. I think regular incandescent
with reflectors are safe and effective.Clear Incandescent ( not red tinted)
is perfect for regular lighting and red light therapy.

You can use dor longer than 15 minutes, it's just recommended that you take a break every 15 minutes or so. However, from what I remember from some of the interviews, Ray says that even for a short time there's a huge benefit from the light.

Yes, there is a lot of benefit even from brief exposure.

Ray Peat said:
Studies on isolated organs and tissues suggest that a few seconds
of penetrating bright light are enough to break the free radical
chain reactions, slowing the production of toxic substances, which
tend to increase in concentration during nocturnal stress. A few
seconds’ exposure to the direct light of ten 150 Watt incandescent
bulbs, for just a few minutes every two or three hours, might
provide more effective protection than continuous exposure to a
single 100 Watt light. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=187&start=30#p1227

Thanks!

That's just the information I need. So i guess this setup will be pretty good then since it 300 watts?

Appreciating the feedback! :):

In theory, your lamp looks fine and 300 watt is bright enough.
But, RP never really recommended this kind of lamps to anyone .
When people asked about red bulbs, he recommended clear bulb.
He commented that orange wavelength is missing in red tinted bulbs.
Then the philips infrared bulb seems to have some orange light too.
I think it depends on the product. I do not know how much orange+red light
are there in regular incandescent, clear brooding lamps
and red infrared bulbs. Any amount of red light is beneficial.
I think if it is working, you will see the benefits.

These lamps (height approx. 25 cm) were found in every home in my childhood. Costs: 15-50 EUR. Is something wrong with them?

A doctor instructed me a couple of years ago to use such a lamp for my nasty sinus issues. After heaving read so much about red light in the last weeks, I got it out of the cabinet... :)

Did you try it for the sinuses? Did it help?

Yes, I tried it. In the beginning it did bring a lot of relief, but with the years my sinus issues got worse, and in the end neither drugs nor home remedies helped... Then I went gluten-free, introduced coconut, worked on my posture, and it became much better. Starch seems to trigger problems for me. Relaxation of some muscles (masseter and the ones in the throat) is still a construction site.

I believe normal red lamps only travel 2 mm inside the tissues, while the latest K-lasers penetrate 10 cm. No comparaison. 2 grands is a steal.

Giraffe, did you try DMSO for your sinuses ?

I have not tried DMSO yet. I know close to nothing about it, but a post by you made me curious. You mentioned its ability to dissolve scar tissue. Thank you for reminding me that I wanted to research this. :)

I've read that not all infrared light frequencies are equal or good?
