In Desperate Need Of Help Regarding My Erectile Dysfunction

Hello all. I am a 25 year old male who for the last 6 years has suffered with terrible E.D. I am now at a complete loss on what to do, as I initially thought my E.D has devolved due to over masturbating/porn addiction but am now beginning to think the problem could be physical.

I have zero sex drive, I am unable to get erect by myself or with pornography and my erections with my GF get to 60% at best, and I always prematurely ejaculate after a few penetrations. I don't think I've had a full erection in about 5 years now.

I have no idea what to do, and was wondering if anybody had any knowledge on how I can help myself with this be it through diet, supplementation or anything else.

Please help me.

Try this, get the best erection you can so you can masterbate or have sex, get close to ejaculation and stop do this a few times and then stop, do this for a few days in a row see how your erections are. Doing stuff like this greatly increases my erection quality.

visit the nofap support forums on reddit.com or elsewhere and avoid masturbation and porn and fantasy completely. Over time you'll be able to have great sexual intercourse and won't have any more ED.

Do you think this is all porn related? I appreciate your response guys.

@English I don't. Without knowing anything else, I would say porn is probably the least plausible of any source of the issue. Probably exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle (mental health, work, family, friends) related if anything. Just my opinion.

Porn probably doesn't help, but it probably does not contribute as much as other elements, is my point.

Have you had your prolactin, thyroid and testosterone levels checked? Excessive ejeculation tends to lower dopamine and keep prolactin chronically high. It doesn’t always correct itself even when decreasing masturbation frequency. High prolactin usually lowers thyroid too.

If your dopamine is low, prolactin is high and you can’t get it to come down, a dopamine agonist like bromocriptine might help. Then once it’s down some thyroid and magnesium supplementation along with a high zinc diet might help calm down your pituitary gland.

That’s my theory on how to treat the symptoms of the chronic ultra fapper. It kind of reminds me of what can sometimes happen to nursing mothers. They can’t get their prolactin to come down and it starts to affect their thyroid and whole metabolism.

Thank you, I got my testosterone levels checked last year and they came back "normal" at 17.6 nmo/L. TSH came back 1.49MI/L. I couldn't find anything regarding prolactin, so I think I may need to get this checked. My worry is I have developed a tumour on my pituitary gland.

Whats the rest of your health like? Mood? are you cold? fatigued? ED is almost certainly never something that happens in isolation...

My worry is I have developed a tumour on my pituitary gland.

That certainly sounds like anxiety

T is on the low side. Yeah I also wonder if pituitary dysfunction of some kind can be induced by excessive masturbation especially when not already in optimal metabolic function and androgen levels to manage prolactin correctly. That’s my guess of what often happens to guys with these symptoms.

Bromocriptine in the least probably wouldn’t hurt. It does more than just lower prolactin and stimulates normal metabolism in other ways too.

If it is pituitary related it’s probably better to address that first instead of going straight for T therapy, although some form of DHT might be therapeutic. I’d try a dopamine agonist first though and then thyroid if that improves symptoms.

In my personal experience, PUFA overload was the reason for ED. Quick fix is to get low fat diet and depleat PUFA. In my case both McDougall and Ray Peat's styles very low fat diets gave same result.

Fatigued yes, feel very weak. Low muscle mass, sleep terribly... Felt like this for a number of years too. The last time I remember being able to get a normal reaction was about 6 years ago.

I agree. Much like how excess CO2 is the primary driver behind negative climate change. It probably doesn’t help, but is not the *key* issue that needs to be addressed.

Low energy, tired, unable to get erections, this is a systematic issue from a complex interaction of all the categories you listed (imo diet being the most important one, but I can get a tad reductionist sometimes!).

It's interesting how people don't mention these kind of things. I'm not criticizing you, just remarking upon how being tired, weak, sleeping poorly etc has basically all been normalized to the point where a lot of people don't really think to complain about it.

Anyway, I don't know how much of Peat's work you have read, so maybe the primer jzeno wrote would be a good place to start:

Guide To Ray Peat: Simple, User-friendly Guide To Applying Lessons Learned From The Research Of RP

Basically, getting your metabolic rate up is fundamental. You could take your pulse and temperature and report back.

In the meantime some cyproheptadine could be a useful thing to try if you are going nuts from poor sleep. I believe it's over the counter in the UK, under the brand name Periactin. A lot of people just take 1/8th of a tablet (0.5mg) and find that is enough to relieve stress and get a better quality sleep. Some people take more.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm new to this forum and a lot of Ray Peat's work. I have got a doctors appointment booked in a couple of weeks so may report back to this thread to update and ask further questions. Thanks again for your time.

I'm gonna add a huge +1 to nofap. My libido hasn't been terrific due to overcoming other health issues, but I'm on a two week streak of nofap and it's actually fairly strong now at times. Nothing like #nofap to reset the libido.

In addition, seeing as you said you have a gf, you should consider karezza (orgasm-free sex, look into it if you don't know what it's about).

Sex absolutely has similar physical effects as masturbation. People can argue with me all day about it, but I have first hand experience, it does, it's true, same as porn, sex is actually worse than porn in some ways because in a new relationship you will likely orgasm many times a day, even more than you would with porn. I think I did it like 7 times in one day with my ex at the beginning. Wayyyyyy too much lol. If you both like sex, that's ok though, just do karezza instead. There's no limit to how often or long you can do this without physiological effects.

The effects are about 10x magnified if you're unwell and already have ED, even more reason to join the #nofap train.

Absolutely, fix the diet and other issues too, I'm not saying ignore them, but #nofap is HUGE. I advocate definitely for a holistic approach, so the answers of nofap will fix all your problems and diet will fix all your problems are both wrong. Do both, not one or the other. If you do both, your libido will come back with a vengeance! I find it takes 1-2 weeks to start to notice the benefits on #nofap, and peak benefits occur somewhere in the 4-8 week range (although subtle benefits extend even beyond 8 weeks). I would argue most have never done 8+ week streaks so that's why they think #nofap does nothing.
