If You Have High Serum Vitamin A Does That Indicate An Excess Or Deficiency In Your Diet?

I got a blood test for serum Vitamin A and had 81 μg/dL which was higher than the normal range (18-77).

Does anyone know if it's like calcium where a high level in the blood can actually mean a deficiency in the diet or if it's the more intuitive "high serum level = surplus in diet"?

I supplment 5,000 IU of Vitamin A every day and I'm wondering if I need it.
