Eliminating meat and using gelatin fixes my sleep and reducing incoherent/self loathing symptoms.

That right there would be a huge transformation for me. I have just ordered 3Kg of collagen protein, will report findings.

Do you eat any seafood/shrimp/prawns?

Don’t overdo fruit, don’t quit grains and legumes, stay away from dairy and coconut

Wish you the best as you experiment.

I have seafood maybe 1x every 1-2 months. I save that if I am going to have dinner with friends. But not much anymore as I found it did not make a large impact in comparison to the other staples.

Hmmm, my experiment to swap casein protein for collagen protein has not started well.
One scoop mixed in water and my stomach is gurgling and twisting.......

The thing I'm trying to fix digestion with has made things worse! Anybody else?

Thanks for the note.

I do go on walks and enjoy them. But when I talk about my top 10 as in the most critical thing for my health, I’ve found walking for me personally to not be in the top 10. Top 20 more so. You have to remember, I was pissing 70x a day and sleeping in a bath tub, light walks was not going to fix that.
Why do you think that you were urinating that much?

nothing has ever been concluded yet. After seeing 15+ specialists who had no clue, I’ve just been going about my own direction of supporting the metabolism and keeping stress low when I can. It’s made a tremendous difference.

If I were to guess. Back when I was doing the warrior/paleo diet combined with CrossFit, I think it did something that has created some type of long term damage that still hasn’t been worked through. I’ve tried metabolic and physical manipulations and nothing is conclusive.

- stick to high fat with bits of sugary stuff here and there. Mostly upon waking up and pre bed
- no lean muscle meat (fatty cuts are fine)
- no packaged foods as much as possible, although OJ is too good to pass on
- working out weekends only, no high intensity training, whole week to recover. Extra sugar intra training
- no supplements whatsoever at first. Add them one by one. Starting with B complex
- no f*cks given mentality. Letting go more. The opposite of helplessness

I'd drop all supplements and try to fix everything with food and lifting weights. No starches, no pufa, no plain sugar. Lots of soup with beef, veggies and collagen. And frozen fruit.
Soup because it retains all the nutrients in meat and veggies if the meat and veggies are cooked raw in the soup. Putting the collagen powder in the soup balances methionine in the same protein bolus. Salt as desired.
Frozen fruit because it's the only fruit that's picked ripe, is low histamine, can be bought in bulk and stored, and retains the nutrients well. No nutrient depletion like sugar can do, but still get as much sugar as I want from it. Can be eaten plain or in smoothies for easier digestion if needed.

Thought I’d give everyone another update, if I could do it over again 7 years ago, this is how I would start after experimenting more and looking back:

Top 10

1. Use low dose Clonidine Before bed time.
2. Eat gelatin + dark chocolate + vanilla ice cream + salt with Clonidine
3. Stop exercising completely
4. Tape my mouth shut while sleeping
5. Incline the head of my bed 2-6 inches - big shout out to Andrew k fletcher
6. Wear blue blocker glasses before bed time
7. Start experimenting with Niacinamide and OJ together during the day
8. Eliminate starch completely
9. Eliminate meat completely
10. Start eating mushrooms with butter and parmigiano Reggiano cheese

What is your niacinamide routine? It’s funny to me that as a staple, I have never obtained the oft-spoken real effects of this supplement outside of as an anti inflammatory substance in large doses.

if you'd be into mouth taping why not learn breathing techniques in general?

good question. So for the longest time I could not tolerate B3. 50-100mg would be far too stimulating. Since doing very low dose Clonidine at night my stress levels have come down more than anything else I’ve tried. I feel that my excessive urination issue is a direct response to high amounts of adrenaline from my warriors diet/paleo/CrossFit days. Since using Clonidine my urination is coming down even more. Since B3 is supposed to inhibit lipolysis, this is the only reason I’ve been trying it again and it seems to be having a good effect. At 1.5 grams per day mixed with 4-6 cups of OJ (mix 3/4 of a tsp in a jug each day) and slowly sipping throughout the day as I do work, is not stimulating and seems to further enhance the anti-stress effect and bringing urination down more.

so this is why if I could do it over again knowing what I know now, I would try the clonidine/B3 supplement combo right out of the gate.

I do use breathing techniques, but not as my top 10. You have to remember I was sleeping in a bath tub and was in really bad shape. I’ve found that implementations that I can easily automate was a good way to get my health back on track. This is why I like incline bed therapy and mouth taping. I don’t have to consciously focus on learning these techniques while sleeping in the night. It’s just automated.

But, breathing techniques are great which I use daily. But just not my top 10 that would have gotten me out of the bathtub and peeing 70x a day.

When you say not top 10 do you mean because they take time and effort to yeld results? Please don't get me wrong I am not projecting lazyness on your part ha ha. Just curious if Top 10 means things that works immediately and effortlessly? I assume peeing 70x day would fall into category which make you wanna relieve suffering as fast as possible.

Only reason I am asked about breathwork is because I have perpetual blocked and stuffed nose. Thats my last resort of implementations I am aware ☺

Top 10 meaning like, what are the most powerful, bang for buck, implementations that would stop the bleeding (so to speak). I made this post because some people are looking for ways to stop the bleeding and get out of the whole they are in. My way is definitely not the right way, I’m just sharing my experience and updating people on my reflections so they can have different perspectives.

As far as stuffy nose, that’s never been something I’ve dealt with chronically. But, when I have a stuffy nose 1x a year during the winter, mouth taping has been helpful.

Fair enough! ☺ Keep us updated, it's nice to read somebodies posts who somewhat figured it out.

Thanks and goodluck!

My pleasure to share. And, I definitely don’t have this all figured out ? still chopping away and ratcheting up everyday.

I recently watched a Danny Roddy clip where he talked about 6 things he would have done if he could do it over again when it comes to Dr. Peats work.

Naturally, I started to reflect if I could have done it all over again after seeing what worked and what didn’t work, what would I have chosen?

As were always reading each other’s comments, looking for feedback, figured I’d shared this in case someone needs a frame of reference from my story.

6 years ago I started following peats work after sleeping in a bath tub 3 nights in a row. I was urinating 70x a day and so it was easier for me to pee and sleep at the same time. Then, after the 3rd night, enough was enough and I started learning from someone on peats work.

From the moment I made the decision to change, if I could do it again, below are the exact steps in order I would take if I knew what I know now. FYI, below is my path based on how my body responded. I would do this order to “stop the bleeding” so to speak; better yet, stop the damage I had done and start recovering. In my case, stop the urination and get out of the bath tub.

***all the implementations below are based on the most bang for buck that left lasting impressions of their power. I’ve experimented with other things... but these are the bang for buck that stick.

  1. Stop working out
  2. Start drinking orange juice/Red Bull combo to satisfaction - 8oz of OJ:1oz of RB ratio
  3. Add salt to OJ
  4. Add cyproheptadine before bed time (stop the stress response and put me to sleep)
  5. Wear blue blocker sunglasses before bed
  6. Inclining bed (cheap way to increase metabolism and decompress my back - resting heart rate on incline is 85-95 bpm currently; horizontal was 60-75)
  7. Eat OJ + parmigiano Reggiano cheese before bed
  8. Eliminate unsaturated oils, meat, starch, nuts, seeds, and thickening agents.
  9. Slowly add in calcium while aggressively lowering phosphate (head towards 1:1 ratio)
  10. Add theanine on a daily basis (most powerful stress reducer I’ve found for anxiety)
  11. Daily white button mushrooms (nothing increases my temperature more)
  12. Replace meat with gelatin (lower phosphate as much as possible); add gelatin to coffee
  13. Add sugar to coffee
  14. Add milk to coffee
  15. Add epsom salt/aspirin baths
  16. Add aspirin orally
  17. Daily Red light
  18. Add 4oz of liver per week
  19. Remove metal fillings in teeth (this dramatically increased body temperature)
  20. Start doing yoga nidra meditation before bed time.
  21. Start stretching lightly everyday - 3-5 minute work breaks
  22. Start mixing small doses of ice cream in my coffee.
  23. Start experimenting with pregnenolone if necessary (first time I tried it my pupils constricted so intensely that I could physically feel it. Was nuts.)
  24. Ice cream + dark chocolate before bed time.
  25. Leave former job.
  26. Move to sunny, warmer climate.
Foods:
Milk
following low phosphate diet but drinking milk and eating mushrooms looks like a little counterproductive ;-)

No magnesium? (lowers phosphate to)

2. Stop exercising (stretch lightly 20 minutes a day)

How is your stretching routine looks like? static stretching every muscle for 60 seconds every day or something?
Stretching lowers latic acid? (i know massage/foam rolling does, not sure about stretching)

look at the attachment. Bought from Home Depot.

but started just by stacking books.
