Hyponatremia is low blood sodium, caused by hypothyroidism, drinking too much fluid, anti-depressants, or some medical conditions. It's linked to difficulty focusing, lack of balancing and gait changes, headaches, cognitive difficulty, and death in the elderly or hospitalized.

Overcorrecting severe chronic hyponatremia with a high sodium intake can result in brain damage that can be permanent.

Let's make today the unofficial hyponatremia and CPM awareness day. Eat salt and don't overcorrect.
