I understand the theory of having less body hair allows us to sweat more and keep temperature down in the hot drier African grass plains. But more body fat than our primate cousins is advantageous in a cold climate not a hot one, or is it an evolutionary advance on hair as a way of keeping us warm, especially at night?? So metabolism rises as well to keep us warm. Its a trade off for having less hair??

I thought another evolutionary leap, was cooking or heating flesh, allowed more protein to be absorbed much quicker and efficiently than raw, allowing our brains to grow.
