I cant speak for RP, but HPV is incredibly common because of how many strains there are. Chances are more than half the forum has been exposed to it and the body just takes care of it. Some strains will cause a wart in a myriad of locations or a skin growth that will eventually go away, some stay. Some are associated with dysplasia. A ton of toddlers, athletes and people in exposed public germy places get it, some never know. Its insanely common.
As far as checking status, a blood titer test will tell you if the person has been exposed to it.
