HRT for menopausal women

What would be the best course of action for a menopausal woman who is:
- bloated
- irritable
- low in energy

Is progesterone the end all be all?
Would some estrogen and testosterone be worth a shot?
Pregnenolone? DHEA?

I haven't found that to be true in my case, but everyone's different. It's probably a good place to start though.

Also, some labs might help. You don't want to give DHEA if she doesn't need it, for example. Many women that age are going to be low in everything, but I remember @Blossom said DHEA gave her facial hair because her levels were already high.

Ray Peat says getting the thyroid healthier before using other hormones is better. I know when I tried progesterone it didn't seem to be the best thing. Since trying to eat for a healthy metabolism I have had better luck. I would look into thyroid first, although, I don't use thyroid myself.
