How to treat conjunctivitis?

I guess I have bacterial conjunctivitis. My left eye is inflamed, leaking fluids, eyelids swollen.

What are some remedies to correct this infection?

I use a rinse of distilled water and a little baking soda. Several times. My last one went away after one rinse but I caught it early. I mix the stuff and pour it into my hand. Hold it to eye and do eye circles. Then carefully close eye and wait a minute.
