How is the spike protein degraded?

Hello, I'm curious if anyone in this forum knows what might happen to the spike protein in the body on the longer term? Is it degraded at some point and could we in theory enhance its degradation?

The fact that 'boosters' will be implemented every 6-12mo tells you how long it might last. I have had my share of Biochem like many but I understand the concern, is the the spike protein continues to influence protein synthesis (RNA to mRNA to protein synthesis) which is the scare. Is the problem all hypothetical or real?
