Alot of research shows anabolic steroids leads to increases plaque build up in their arteries.

how does this happen and why? How does high androgens affect this? I am really curious about the mechanism behind it.
I did some research but I cant seem to find much.

My guess is a reduction in youth steroids from the suppressive effects of the AAS. DHEA in particular is very important for maintaining the elasticity of arterial walls.

I don't have any specific studies, but I know that nandrolone decanoate is directly damaging to the endothelium. Also, as doses increase, so does the blood pressure, which can damage the blood vessels by the shear stress that it causes.
