Hey all,

I am seriously baffled.

How can boiled potatoes (a massive serving) result in extremely uplifting mood, but completely diminish my libido. I think I noticed this exact effect after using Elixa Probiotic | Ultra High Strength Probiotic
Other effects I notice about 2 hours after them is a reduction in body temperature.

Someone help explain the mechanism.
I have read about possible endotoxin, but I seriously feel like there's something going on.

Couple years ago i noticed by myself that eating carbs or fats without protein my libido stay neutral.
But when i eat protein with the starch i am horny as hell hour or so later.
but protein alone or fats alone did do nothing..
i always thought i was crazy because i don't understand way.. (now i still don't)
But when I came to this forum a month ago I accidentally read a few messages from other people who have the same experience.
So libido seems to need a combination of carbohydrates and protein together but I still don't understand why.

Carbs alone provide sugar and help thyroid/hormones but no raw material for actual libido/erectile function. Protein provides the raw material (amino acids) for neurotransmitters involved in libido such as glutamate, dopamine, histamine, etc as well as arginine for nitric oxide needed for erections.

Protein alone increases stress hormones too much (thus lowering libido) because of insulin rising from protein but no carbs in the meal to maintain blood sugar.
