How Bad Really Is Cialis? Especially At A Low Dose

Hey, If you see my recent post i've been diagnosed with Peyrnies disease and my erection quality has been terrible the last few years, so bad that i am unable to have sex at certain times..

I've been prescribed to take 2.5mg of tadalafil (cialis) everyday for 3 months as this will help to get more blood into the penis and help in remodelling the thickening (plaque) that I have. It will also help to give me a stronger erection for sex and avoid further injury with inadequate erection quality. I don't plan to take it everyday, maybe a few times a week or maybe just once a week over the weekend when i'm more likely to have sex. This is something the worlds leading urologists in Peyronies disease prescribe for patients.

I know this is a RP forum and i'd never thought i'd be asking about this as i'm only in my early twenties but it's got to the point now where i've got no choice.

Being on a RP forum i should imagine there is automatic dislike to something like Cialis but just try and put yourself in my shoes.

-Is it possible to become reliant on Cialis? At such a low dose? I can't find anything online that it would cause reliance physically, maybe psychologically but not physically. There's also some studies showing it improved mens erection quality the months after stopping the cialis.

-Anything else i should know from your experiences?

I think you should at least do something to mitigate the the damage that it causes.

I think the Peyronie's could be looked at as accumulated fatigue of beta adrenergic receptors, which work to engage the nitric oxide - cGMP pathway to encourage local calcium flux and smooth muscle relaxation in the vascular system. Systemic problems with the vascular system including issues with calcium metabolism and loss of magnesium, are going to be fundamental. Cialis is a PDE5 inhibitor, PDE5 is the enzyme that works to break down cGMP. Inhibiting this leads to an increase in cGMP which lowers intracellular calcium in smooth muscle cells, leading to relaxation. Increasing cGMP accumulation through Cialis may help some of the fatigue in the system but ultimately it will probably lead to increased swelling and vascular leakiness, this is not good. Have you considered ultrasound therapy?

This could also probably be looked at as excessive alpha adrenergic tone from epinepherine, ala classic "hypothyroidism."

You'll want to take care of your kidneys as well since the mechanism that has injured your unit is also at work in them.

Do you get enough magnesium? What about manganeseium?

Nitric oxide–cyclic GMP pathway with some emphasis on cavernosal contractility
Cofactors, including Mn2+ and Mg2+, are required for the catalytic conversion of GTP to cGMP by sGC. The Mg2+ is thought to act as the most physiologically important cofactor. In the presence of Mg2+, stimulation of the enzyme by NO results in a marked increase in Vmax (>200-fold) and a decrease in Km for the substrate GTP from ∼100 to ∼50 μM

The melanopsin optical signalling pathway is involved in vascular smooth muscle relaxation. Excessive exposure to blue light can fatigue this system. Stimulation during periods of fatigue can significantly contribute to fibrosis.

I personally would try adrenaline blockers and stay away from Cialis as much as I possibly could.

No idea about cialis but I read someone's testimonial that serrapeptase helped with their peyronie's:
Worked for Peyronie's
"Among natural remedies, Serrapeptase seemed to show promise"..."After one month of use (3 capsules of 40,000 units one hour before breakfast daily), the plaque is gone completely (the appointment I made a month ago with a urologist is still a month away:)) I did not notice any obvious side effects. I will keep using it for another month.
UPDATE 11/29/2015: As stated about 2 years ago, I did use this product for 2 months. Before using this product, there was a 45 degree bend to the side. It went away 100% after using this product."

This person also had success in breaking up the plaque using a facial ultrasound massager WAMO89 | Profiles | Community | Patient

I do not have any experience with either of these two remedies.

If it were me, I would take Vitamin K2 in a fairly high dose, something like 15-45mg, before I took anything like Cialis in any dose. But then again, I have been taking K2 for maybe a full decade or so now.

You should supplement with VC and B complex at least, if you are going that route. I read that these types of drugs effect toxicity through increased action of peroxynitrite, which is scavenged modestly by vitamin C. The things Diokine mentioned are applying also.

I have been on 5mg of Cialis for a few months huge improvement in erection quality. It was the only thing 3 Uros would prescribe me for peyroines. I take it on an off though not everyday.
No side effects to report. Penis is usually full of blood and morning erections are quite frequent. I am 37. My last testosterone test had me at 250/1000 which is why I think I developed peyroines. I went through a period in my life with extreme emotion stress which killed my libido and probably suffocated my penis.
