I kind of like all of these things. I dont do marathan type cardio but i like to jump rope, play tennis, and i def get lactic acid burn from that in my calves and legs. I also like training to failure sometimes on weights. Really bad? or ok in moderation?

If you get pleasure from the activity itself and you're not doing it with a "no pain no gain" mindset for bigger muscles or a better physique, I'd say it's ok in moderation.

Getting enough quality sleep would offset the damage.

Enough protein from animal foods throughout the day would also help.

Sucrose can very quickly lower the stress hormones after an exercise session. Also, it's great for replenishing glycogen. I used to think that starch was better for muscle glycogen, but it turns out that there are studies showing that sucrose is actually a tiny bit better than starch/ glucose at replenishing muscle glycogen. In my experience, simple syrup is significantly better than sucrose for glycogen.

Thiamine lowers lactic acid very well. You could try taking something like 100 mg of it right after training.

I think @lampofred raised a good point.
