How Accurate Are Cortisol Saliva Tests?

I did a morning blood test twice this week (monday and wednesday) with a staggering difference in concentrations: 349 and 566 respectively (reference 180-540).

Would a saliva test be more accurate? If so, what lab would you recommend? Thanks in advance.

AFIK the 24 hour saliva sample may be more accurate in that it would tell you about your cortisol cycle through the day. The absolute numbers may be off but whether or not the general trend matches a normal cycle should tell you something of use.

I did the test through ZRT labs.
Apparently my morning cortisol was low in the morning and high in the afternoon.

I didnt do anything about it but just saw an article on a cortisol reset diet where you have zero carbs for breakfast and high carbs for lunch and dinner.
