“The strange idea that cholesterol causes atherosclerosis was revived in the 1950s when the vegetable oil industry learned that their polyunsaturated oils lowered serum cholesterol. (Many other toxins lower cholesterol, but that is never mentioned.)”

“Dietitians often recommend eating poached salmon, rather than "red meat," to lower cholesterol. Experimenters have measured the toxic oxidized cholesterol in different foods prepared in a variety of ways. Steaming salmon produced several times as much oxidized cholesterol as frying it, because of the longer cooking time that allowed the polyunsaturated fatty acids to break down, producing toxins such as acrolein and free radicals that oxidize the cholesterol and other components of the fish. The toxic cholesterol content of the steamed salmon was much higher than that of beef cooked at a high temperature.

When oxidized polyunsaturated oils, such as corn oil or linoleic acid, are added to food, they appear in the blood lipids, where they accelerate the formation of cholesterol deposits in arteries (Staprans, et al., 1994, 1996).

Stress accelerates the oxidation of the polyunsaturated fatty acids in the body, so people who consume unsaturated vegetable oils and fish will have some oxidized cholesterol in their tissues. The constant turnover of cholesterol in the tissues tends to lower the proportion of the toxic oxidized degradation products of cholesterol, but in hypothyroidism, the use of cholesterol is slowed, allowing the toxic forms to accumulate.” -Ray Peat

“Also in August, Kraft Heinz (KHC) recalled 5,760 cases of its Wild Cherry flavored Capri Sun juice pouches, or about 230,000 juice pouches, that may have been accidentally contaminated with cleaning solution. A diluted form of a cleaning solution used to clean food processing equipment was "inadvertently introduced into a production line" at one of the company's factories, according to a company statement.”

“Pepsico (PEP) , which produces and sells Starbucks Doubleshot Espresso drinks in cans nationwide, on Sept. 26, 2021 recalled over 250,000 cases of the beverages, but not for bacteria contamination or a foreign object in the drink. The company recalled the drinks, since the cans contained defective seals that could result in premature spoilage of the beverages, BGR Media reported.
The beverage company recalled three flavors of the Starbucks drink: Starbucks Doubleshot Espresso, Espresso & Cream (6.5 fluid ounces), Starbucks Doubleshot Espresso, Espresso & Light Cream (6.5 fluid ounces) and Starbucks Doubleshot Espresso, Espresso & Salted Caramel Cream (6.5 Fluid ounces). The company recalled 85,956 cases of each drink, which had a March 28, 2022, best-by-date.”

“Salmonella was also found on frozen shrimp. Various sizes of frozen cooked, peeled, and deveined shrimp distributed by Kader Exports and sold under several brand names—Aqua Star Reserve, Censea, Fresh Market, Kirkland, Tops, Unistar, Wellsley Farms—between February and mid-May were pulled off the grocery shelves. While no cases of illness have been reported due to these products, it's advisable you double check frozen shrimp that you purchased earlier this year, to make sure you don't still have one of the recalled bags in your freezer.“

Cheesemakers use rennet very early in the process to coagulate the milk and separate the curds from the whey. The rennet enzymes in cheese include a protease enzyme called chymosin that is particularly effective at causing the casein protein in milk to cling together and form a network of casein molecules, essentially turning liquid milk into solid curds. The casein network also traps fats and minerals in the milk that will be needed to create the cheese.

Animal rennet has been the predominant type of rennet used in cheesemaking for centuries and is still commonly used today. But because this type of rennet is costly and frequently not available at times, cheesemakers have also turned to vegetable rennet. Derived from plants like thistle, nettle, artichokes, figs, and dried caper leaves, vegetable rennet has the same coagulating property as animal rennet. It also has the added benefit of being acceptable to vegetarians, enabling cheesemakers to make true vegetarian cheese.

Additional forms of rennet include microbial rennet, which is made from yeast, fungi, and mold and is also considered vegetarian. And genetically modified rennet is made in a lab by inserting the DNA of ruminant animals into yeast which then takes on the same coagulating ability.“

“An investigation related to adverse effects associated with Daily Harvest brand frozen Leeks & Lentils Crumbles is ongoing. The company has received more than 470 complaints of illnesses and as of its most recent report on Sept, 15 the FDA had received 386 complaints. Some of the patients have gone into liver failure and at least 25 have had to have their gallbladders removed. The FDA is working on traceback efforts and has begun on-site inspection and product testing. Some testing has revealed that tara flour is an ingredient unique to the Daily Harvest crumbles product and could be related to the illnesses.

In an ongoing outbreak of infections caused by E. coli O157:H7 the FDA has initiated sample collection and analysis. The outbreak, reported by the CDC as being linked to lettuce on Wendy’s sandwiches, has sickened at least 84 people. The four-state outbreak has sickened more people according to the state counts, but all of the reports have not reached the CDC. Wendy’s has stopped serving the romaine-iceberg lettuce hybrid on sandwiches in several states, according to a statement from the company.

The FDA is conducting an on-site inspection at Big Olaf Creamery in Florida, which has been deemed to be behind an 11-state outbreak of Listeria infections. The state of Florida closed the business several weeks ago after tests found multiple places of contamination with Listeria monocytogenes in the plant. Testing also showed Listeria in 16 of 17 flavors of the company’s ice cream. At last count the outbreak had sickened 25 patients with one having died. A pregnant woman also miscarried. Twenty-four of the patients have required hospitalization.”

“FDA laboratory analysis of the environmental sample 1119291 collected on Feb. 8, 2022, from various areas in their processing facility confirmed 8 of 56 environmental swabs were positive for L. monocytogenes. Of the positive findings, 3 swabs were collected from food-contact surfaces where RTE cantaloupe and RTE sliced apples were being prepared, including:

Surface of the stainless-steel fruit table used for coring apples
Blade of the yellow knife used to cut cantaloupe
Green squeegee used for wiping the surface of the stainless-steel table where cantaloupes were being processed
In addition, L. monocytogenes was found on a tote used for holding bulk/whole cantaloupe.“

“Specifically, FDA investigators observed the following:

On Feb. 10, 2022, an employee used a high-pressure hose that had contacted the floor before use and sprayed the rear wall of the main production facility during production of RTE romaine lettuce. The spray from the hose was observed contacting the floor several times and creating an aerosol and mist within the production area that was also visible in the air several feet away from the RTE romaine that was processed. Note that high-pressure hoses create overspray and aerosols that can transfer and spread pathogens from the environment to food contact surfaces, and floors are common sources of environmental pathogens such as L. monocytogenes.

On Feb. 22, 2022, an employee used a high-pressure hose to clean a large spinner machine during manufacturing of RTE diced onions in the main production room, then contacted the floor with the hose, causing spray water to aerosolize and splash directly from the floor onto draining bins located approximately five feet away that contained RTE diced onions.

2. The firm did not maintain buildings, fixtures, and other physical facilities in a clean and sanitary condition and in repair adequate to prevent food from becoming adulterated, as required. Specifically, FDA investigators observed the following:

On Feb. 8, 2022, condensate was observed dripping from the overhead ceiling and refrigeration unit in the main production room to the floor, approximately 10 feet from where RTE diced red onion was being processed.”

Anyone who has seen large acre farming which can have a single crop for miles in which autowatering coils and harvesting machinery is done by migrant workers, knows there are no portapotties anywhere. Layered on top of that are numerous wildlife pooping andcpeeing in the fields, deer, possum, dogs, raccoons, gophers, prairie dogs, wild pigs, depending on where you are. Not to mention thousands of birds.... Anyone who believes that ecoli and other organisms are present because the *FDA* cites a hose splashed water on a floor onto food, a refrigerant leak dripped or a knife and table wasnt cleaned, you need to get out more.

“Examples of current standards for context and reference:

Current Organizational & U.S. Federal Regulatory Standards:

Bottled water is considered illegal for Lead content if it has more than 5 ppb.

Water in school fountains is considered toxic and unsafe for children (According to The American Academy of Pediatrics) when Lead levels exceed 1 ppb.

Tap water is considered to be unsafe for human consumption if it exceeds the [relatively high; not protective of human health] U.S. Federal standard of 15 ppb.

Fruit juice is considered unsafe for children at 50 ppb and up.

Dried fruit is considered toxic for consumption at 100 ppb and up.

Candy is considered toxic for consumption at 100 ppb and up.“

“CALHOUN COUNTY, MI -- Michigan residents are being advised to not eat produce from Kuntry Gardens due to the Homer farm’s use of raw, untreated human waste as fertilizer.

The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development issued the warning on Monday, Oct. 3, after a routine safety inspection revealed Kuntry Gardens was using raw, untreated human waste on fields where produce was grown for sale to local grocery stores and direct sales.“
