Hi ,

I posted last week about going from high cortisol to good thyroid function and got some helpful replies.

I am 51 hypo overweight cortisol tummy and should have mentioned taking t4 for many years , now taking 175mg for about 4 months , Endo had increased to 200 last December, but i had discovered Ray by then and started to question my reliance on T4 with no improvement in symptoms)

I started going lowish fat (very low PUFA anyway )for about 6 months now. I also increased my sugar/salt to help boost the metabolism. I have definitely lost weight as in fat, clothes much looser. I do some weights to build muscle mass. Take some vitamin e, as in rub some in , as i cant tolerate ingesting it, as i got severe reactions

In recent weeks ive stated with topical magnesium.

I sent the above before i had finished by mistake!!!!

Continued; I am now experiencing regular headsweats after any warm meal or drink , slight exercise, leaving me drenched. I understand this could adrenaline?

Could this be just from increased metabolism , or too much T4 in the system causing raised cortisol/adrenaline????

Replies please

Hi Simonsays,
Perhaps having changed your diet to low pufa and higher carbs has increased your metabolic health?
Have you tried charting your temperature and pulse several times a day for a few days? Doing this may give you some clues.
All the best.

Check pulse/temp to see if it's adrenaline. If it is, then try lowering your thyroid dose, usually does the trick for me.

Hi and thanks,

Yes i think my metabolism, has definitely improved, as i eat a lot more and have lost weight (fat). But as i understand it, as too much T4 can act as an anti thyroid and drive up cortisol/adrenaline.

My pulse has always been good, around 90, but temps always low first thing in morning 35.8 rising to 36.6 during the day. Not warm hands and feet. So classic adrenaline???
