Hello, it's my first thread here.
Well, i switched from a ketogenic-low carb diet to a peaty diet about a month ago.
To not make this thread too long, I won't talk about the reasons why I started a ketogenic diet (as unusual as it may seems, it was not to lose weight).
With 4 months on this keto diet, i noticed various benefits, i guess this was because i followed the stantard diet before, with vegetable oils and everything.
But, when i discovered Ray Peat and started reading about him, i convinced myself that carbs are not the devil. And also, i decided to stop the keto diet because i was feeling that i was with very low energy.
Today i basically eat:
-Coffe with Milk (skim) and Sugar in the morning.
-White Rice
-Potatoes well cooked and peeled
-Red meat
-Eggs
-Coke, when i want (here in Brazil the coke is made with cane sugar)
-Orange Juice
-Raw carrot salad everyday
-Condensed milk, when i crave
-Refined sugar (i add it to coffee, juices, and I get it from condensed milk, coke and redbull)
-Cheese
-Ice cream ocasionally (i only buy Haagen Daz)
-Fruits like bananas and apples
-White Bread (once a week)
-Liver (once a week)
-Red Bull (once a week)
I use butter, coconut oil and lard to cook.
I noticed benefits on this Peaty Diet too: I got incredibly more energy, more mood, more calm (and less stress), etc.
But one thing is bothering me: my acne is back. When i changed my diet to keto, my acne was gone, and i was happy with it. But now, i'm having a lot of acne in the chin area mainly, but in other areas too.
I'm thinking it's because of the refined sugar, but I could be wrong. I don't know what it really could be.
Can someone help me?
