I've had a comprehensive thyroid blood test done ( I've been hypothyroid for several years & am on 125 leveroixine ) it is flagging up I've got high TPO & TG antibodies which I know suggests I have Hashimotos.
My FT4 is too low & my FT4, I also seem to be low in B vits, D, and need selenium.
I would really like to know where to turn.
I'm being recommended to take more Levo, but wonderering about adding T3?
Can anyone recommend a good Thyroid specialist? I live in Norfolk, but Cambridge or London or the East of UK would be fine. Many thanks.

Hi Carrie,
If you want to post your actual results you may get more opinion (only if you want to, of course).
Peat says most women who need to supplement thyroid do better with at least a little T3 in addition to the T4, because liver conversion of T4 to T3 is often not up to speed.
Apparently a healthy body produces about 3-4mcg T3/hour, and it's fairly short-lived, so may be best to not push it up too high with big doses. He has sometimes suggested nibbling a tiny bit of a T3 pill every couple of hours or as needed. Good to monitor signs like temperature and resting heart rate while you are adjusting the dose. Also good to make sure that you are getting generous nutrition calories/carbs, protein, minerals, vitamins to support your metabolism, esp if you are trying to increase it.
Did you read his articles on thyroid here?

Thank you so much Tara, that's really helpful. I'm so sorry I haven't used a forum before, so I may not be posting this in the correct place!
My results are as follows,

If anyone can interpret these it would be really helpful.

CPR 0.10 ( normal range <5.0)

Ferritin 163 ( normal range 20-150) high but maybe due to over supplementation

TSH 1.50 (normal range 01.27-4.20)

T4 Total. 62. ( normal range 64.5-142) Low

Free T4 13.57 (12-22)

Free T3. 3.78 (3.1-6.8)

Reverse T3. 14 (10-24)

Reverse T3 ratio. 17.58 ( normal>15)

Anti-Thryoidperoxidase abs. 274.5 (normal <34). High
Anti-Thyroglobulin Abs.
404.5 ( normal <115) High

Vitamins
D (25 OH) 84 ( deficient <25)
B12 380 ( insufficient 140-250)
Serum Folate. 14.55. ( 10-42.4)

Many thanks

If despite 125 mcg levothyroxine your T4 is low
then you're either
A. not absorbing it
B. your T4 med is underdosed

The not suppressed TSH confirms you're getting Little T4 from your med
So take your T4 med in an empty stomach, retest, if it doesn't work switch T4 meds
Adding t3 at this point will lower TSH and natural thyroid production thus lowering your T4 even more

Your numbers, other than total T4, are low normal. Since the total T4 test isn't as reliable as free T4, I would consider the low normal free T4 number more useful. Are you having symptoms? You don't say why you want T3.
Have you looked at Datis Kharazzian's recommendations for Hashimoto's? Or Isabella Wentz' recommendations? They recommend protocols for antibodies.
I agree with the advice from youngandold, above.
