- results measured with questionnaires
- no control group
- it's about hair thinning, not alopecia
- most patients had increased facial hair which is inversely correlated with alopecia
The study itself still blames DHT, if you read the discussion. It said in the introduction that it's not testosterone causing hair loss. The idea is that there is an increase in 5alpha-reductase activity due to insulin resistance which leads to elevated DHT.
