Noob here, 3rd post on the forum. I've been reading Peat for 3 weeks now.
These are the choices of milk near me. Sorry, I wrote a whole post on one of the other boards not realizing there was a dedicated dairy board. I would prefer skim as my fat intake is low and I need to make room for coconut oil, but the only choices I have are organic (i.e. grain and possibly grass fed) or 2% grass fed. I suppose I can supplement with Greek Yogurt, but the only grass fed greek yogurt I can find is whole milk so fat content is up, but protein is much better. Any advice would be appreciated.
I was going to start using Skyr or Siggi's yogurt, but their website shows that they aren't 100% grass fed cows.
I do find that I get horrible phlegm and heavy chest from grass-fed whole milk. I always eat yogurt, but for some reason after starting this diet even yogurt started giving me phlegm. I do have chronic acid reflux, but acid is now under control (I do have a swallowing disorder that I'll be seeing a specialist for next week).
I am also having gallbladder issues that started coincidentally the same day I tried both whole milk and eggs after a long time lay off of both. The eggs I hadn't really been eating for a few months, but it's been years since I consumed straight milk. I do consume yogurt fairly regularly, but haven't had greek yogurt in months (I was eating regular whole milk yogurt daily for acid reflux per my doctor).
Edit: I forgot to mention that since I started taking digestive enzymes before my meals with a lot of lactase, the phlegm and sore throat have been minimized if not completely eliminated. This also has helped with GERD symptoms (I say symptoms since I have tested to be normal for acid intake).
