Getting Unsubscribed from Threads Somehow...?

Sorry if this has been discussed but...
I'm pretty sure I've been getting unsubscribed
from threads I've subscribed to.
At first I just thought I was being careless.
But...I've noticed a lot of threads I've been following for a long time
where I think,
"Hey, whatever happened to that thread!?"
then I search it down to find I am not subscribed to it...

Anybody else?

Have you tried to resubscribe and see if it sticks?

I have been re-subscribing, Charlie,
but I haven't really been systematic about it.
Just becoming aware of the problem.
But...they seem to be sticking so far as I can tell...

I searched phpbb and there hasn't been a problem like this that I can tell. Definitely do not want this happening so please keep a watch on it.

Also, if anyone else is experiencing this please let us know.

I use "Your Posts". Is there any way I can take threads off that list once I posted in them?

Like for example,
I just saw that someone had posted on my IP6 thread,
(which of course I've been long subscribed to).
But I never received an email notification.
Checked the thread and I was not subscribed.
That has happened several times...

Maybe it is because I am still using a Windows XP computer.

Problem continues, for me.
Also, another weird thing just now:
I posted a response on a Dicyclomine thread.
Went back the Board Index.
Dicyclomine thread wasn't there.
Maybe it takes a few minutes sometimes...?
Usually instant.

Again, maybe this is just because of my ancient XP computer.

Same thing happened with my post above of just a couple of minutes ago.
It seems to have posted.
Yet when I go to the Board Index...not there.
Nor the other previous previous :) post I noted  previously.

I enabled the option so that when a post is read, it will not show in the recent topics.

Regarding the unsubscribe issue. No one else is reporting so I am thinking its on your end only.

Thanks!
Well, that would explain the things I was just complaining about this morning, I think.
Usually in the past I return to the Index
to see what else might interest me
and also to see if I posted successfully.
I've lost a lot of posts when someone else posts before I do
and I don't really notice that alert
and just continue on.
Then the post is just lost.
So...I kinda check the index as a habit to make sure.

So...let me get this straight about the implications of that option you enabled, Charlie:
Do you mean, then,
that everybody's "Recent Topics" will look different,
depending upon which topics individual members have read...?

Yes, it would seem that way.

This is an option in the "recent topics" that I just enabled. Not sure going to stick with it, but wanted to give it a shot. Personally, I like it better. But of course am open to feedback on it.

Oh yeah...something else I should mention while I'm bitching.

I get lost from a lot of threads
because when I respond to a thread
I sometimes forget to pull down the menu and "subscribe."

I even forget to do this sometimes when I create a thread!

I wish there was some way that I could be automatically subscribed
to threads I start or threads I respond to....

I really don't like the way the warning happens when someone posts before you do.
I just hit "Submit" and then click away to something else,
not realizing that I have to click "Submit" a second time.

I'm not bitching at you about this Charlie.
Just the software design.

IMO, it should be a Big warning that jumps out at you so you can't miss it.
Otherwise, I just hit "Submit" and go right on to something else,
typically closing the window.
The warning as it is is very subtle--have to look closely to even figure out what is being warned about....
I've lost a lot of posts that way,
some of them long ones I spent a lot of time on.

I don't really mind so much for myself,
but I mostly feel bad for cantstoppeating
because he finds a lot of uplift and edification in my posts,
especially the longer ones....

There is, check out this link:

Notify me upon replies by default:

ucp.php?i=ucp_prefs&mode=post

Thanks, Charlie.
I did it.
I must be in a bitchin' mood this morning, so here's another
Didn't something change fairly recently when one hits "Post Reply"?
Seems like a week or two ago something changed
and now when I hit "Post Reply" I am relocated to a small, "Quick Reply" box.
So I always have to find "Post Reply" again to get to the regular Full Editor reply screen.
(I can deal with it...just asking if it's correct that something changed :D ....)
