Bit of a strange issue but the only thing I can attribute it to would be either supplementation capsules (cellulose, gelatin etc) or gelatin gummies made with poor ratios for liquid: powder
When I was eating gelatin I consumed about 40G dry powder mixed in with at the lowest about 480ml of apple juice. 80ml to bloom the gelatin for 5 minutes and 400ml liquid boiling in pan (so 480ml for 40g of gelatin). I'd then add the bloom in after boil and heat for another minute or two then pour the mixture into gummy trays and let it set. Usually I'd consume it with some kiwi.
My question is as the title suggests. Would it be possible to end up with an intestinal obstruction (likely as a bezoar), or a mild faecal impaction (built up over weeks of digesting rubbery/poor liquid amount gelatin impairing digestion/getting stuck)? I have been getting some mild arrhythmia around going to the bathroom and seem to manage a daily stool movement, I just cycle between some Bristol stool chart 6 and perhaps 4.5 (small, short, thin) but somewhat formed stools. Feelings of not fully evacuating the bowel & general stomach discomfort. Doctor has diagnosed me with IBS and given me medication for that but I dislike having to take pharma medication & was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience, or knows how gelatin would be digested & if this would at all be possible? the timing on the build up/bowel issues seem to coincide with gelatin, though it could be a red herring and is perhaps something in my regular diet instead causing the problem.
Symptoms are:
Belching, usually after food or drink (have recently paid note to my possibly excessive air intake drinking hot liquids or food) sometimes leading to trapped wind and a tight chest
Fullness/bloating especially after eating
Tachycardia and possible arrhythmia when I need the bathroom but find it difficult to complete a bowel movement (despite small thin stools or mush coming out it seems difficult to push them out)
Incomplete evacuation feeling
My belching and flatulence in general doesn't seem to smell too much, more seems like trapped wind which has woken me up with pain some nights
Last consumed Gelatin on the 13th of may but my worry here is it's stuck somewhere in my intestinal region or even my stomach (belching etc)
