Gelatin As Bacteria Medium

Just a thought I had, hoping for some insight - I always try gelatin (tried many sources) and find it doesn't help me very much unless it's if I'm eating slow cooked joints or if I've heated it to make jellies. Have significant gut issues that I have occasional success with (charcoal, general calming, red light, no starch) but if I slip up, get stressed or get sick it tends to come back. I also know that gelatin can be used as a very good bacterial growth medium in the lab - would it be logical to assume that in the gut it could do the same?
