I was wondering about periods, can you tell quite a lot about your health by menstrual blood?

I would guess that bright red, easily flowing blood would indicate health/fertility, and that dark brown/scant/dry period would be less healthy.

My main question is about clots - do they indicate a problem, or it is normal to get a few clots coming out? (maybe even indicate a cleansing).

This month I have a bright red easy flowing period, but also just got a black clot come out.

Any comments appeciated, thanks.

I would think that a couple of clots are normal because at the end of the day, we are shedding the endometrium wall. If the blood is a clean red I think that’s the indicator that your cycle and menses specifically are healthy. Do you have any recurring premenstrual symptoms? What about during menstruation? Cramps? Bloating? Flatulence? Diarrhea?
